One thing Cambodia has no shortage of unfortunately, is orphans, families killed from disease (eg Aids) starvation, or simply unable to raise their children see them abandoned in huge numbers. One of Toni's big interest was to visit a few orphanages, to find some way of helping, to prepare for a return to Cambodia to help out next year. She had already visited the

The Tuk Tuk driver advised us to purchase a large bag of rice to take to the orphans to help out, we're still not sure
They live in orphanages we would consider squalor in Australia but it has to beat sleeping rough, with a piece of plastic to keep the rain off you and wondering where the next meal comes from. Their uplifting spirit, warm genuine smiles and appreciation of any effort to help them is truly heart warming. They appreciate how good they have it over how bad it once was, Toni's gregarious nature sees her wanting to come back to work more closely to help out next year.
