In the beginning

We had to leave at the indecent hour of 1am, to drive from home to Brisbane.  This would then allow a friend of mine to drop us at the airport and have us impose upon him to leave our vehicle at his place for a month, no problems, says Phil,

we flew to BNE - MEL, then a quick dash across terminals to International, to board the Jetstar flight for BKK.  It was only slightly delayed but this appeared to be a premonition of a crappy flight to come.
we're crammed into the two vacant seats in the middle

Different staff advising us differently left us confused, we were jammed in between 2 others while there were plenty of other seats on the plane, and the managed to lose our luggage coming into Bamgkok and we had every travellers nightmare, bawling kids in front 2 rows and in the seat behind us !

That aside, we managed to arrive in Pattaya in one piece, Toni was amazed at how the traffic operated in Pattaya, cars and Scooters buzzing everywhere, no attention paid to traffic laws but the system seems to work well, I would suggest we could learn a thing or two.  We used a private hire taxi company, Mr. T, to arrange delivery from Bangkok to Pattaya, B1000 for the two of us (tolls included), superb service, the driver met us with a sign at the congregation area, loaded our bags and headed off at a spritely 130km//h down the highway to Pattaya.  We checked in to the Page 10 Hotel on Soi 10, just off Second Road, had a showered and then head out for a walk to explore some of  the sights and sounds and to buy a couple things to cover for the fact most of our luggage was who in hell knows where..  10pm, no problems, this place went until the early hours with the shops open until about midnight.

Welcome to Thailand, have a nice day !
